We’ve Been Busy
Our story this week was about a class putting on a play. We’ve enjoyed talking about our school as a community. We’ve been using the comprehension strategy of cause and effect to help us understand what we read. We are getting to be experts on noticing the “consonant e” words and the “ce” and “ge” combinations! In math we’ve continued to work on discovering different ways to make numbers and different ways to solve math problems.
Special Messages:
Keep saving those box tops for our next contest!
Our classroom Christmas parties will be on Dec. 16th at 2:30. Please return the volunteer sheet with items that you would be willing to donate by Tuesday Dec. 11th.
Looking Ahead:
Next week our story will be Who Works Here?. We will continue our theme of community as we explore the neighborhood setting. Our comprehension skill will be the author’s purpose. We will include that skill into our writing workshop also! We will work on the long “i” sound as in “nine” and study the digraphs wh, ch, tch.
Our new word wall words will be: live, out, people, who, work, but, ask
Dates to Remember:
